About

Ellen Fraser established EF | Media Business Affairs in October 2022, following over 20 years’ experience in senior legal and business affairs roles within some of the UK’s top media finance businesses. In the short time since setting up the company, she has worked closely with a wide range of top tier UK film and television producers, financiers and public funders, advising them in relation to content development, rights clearances, production and exploitation.

Ellen has dealt with all major broadcasters in the UK as well as large streaming platforms, US studios, banks and distributors and provides commercially focussed collaborative and cost effective advice across the full remit of media matters from development to production, financing and distribution.

Ekatarina de Rodzianko (Katya) began her career on the promotional side of film, later transitioning into media law. She subsequently enjoyed an eventful career break raising children, travelling, wilding her land and bridging the gap between environmental activism and large corporations. This diverse period has given her a pragmatic and unconventional approach to life, which benefits her client work.

Katya has worked with a diverse group of UK film and television producers, financiers, and public bodies, facilitating financing, production, development and exploitation. During this time, she worked together with Ellen at one of the UK’s top media finance businesses, across a range of projects. She now joins Ellen at EF | Media Business Affairs with fresh enthusiasm to support businesses so that their creativity can thrive, building authentic relationships, and taking an individual approach to each project.

  • “Having Ellen as your lawyer is a huge asset to you and your team. She’s incredibly experienced in all areas of media law. But equally importantly, she’ll do it all with an infectious laugh and camaraderie that make the good days great, and the non-so-good days better.”
